The lawsuit by Deutsche Bahn (DB) regarding the Stuttgart 21 project has been rejected
13.05.2024
The court dismissed DB’s lawsuit challenging the participation of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and other entities in financing project expenses, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The financing agreement signed in 2009 included commitments to cover increases in the project’s budget but lacked clear obligations for further financing.

The project’s cost has risen to 11.8 billion euros, and its completion dates have been repeatedly postponed.
Negotiations for additional funding have not resulted in an agreement, leading to litigation.
The court ruled that the price fluctuation clause does not obligate partners to provide additional funding.
DB intends to review the court’s decision and decide on continuing legal proceedings.
