He confirmed that 50 trillion IRR will support the port’s development. New locomotive contracts are being signed with private sector partners to improve freight capacity and speed.
Infrastructure challenges persist due to low access fees. However, public-private cooperation with mining and industrial giants is moving ahead. Land allocation and investment procedures are also being streamlined.
Dedicated Rail Services to Support Dry Port Operations
Officials are planning to introduce dedicated freight train services in collaboration with private operators. The dry port remains one of Iran’s busiest logistics platforms.
Beiranvand noted that international transit corridors and foreign investors are key targets. Operators from neighboring countries have already started participating in the project.
Currently, 5 trillion tomans are being invested in this development phase. More contracts will follow soon, with announcements expected in the near future to further expand the dry port.
