Previously, the company’s projects were supported by the venture fund Idealab X.
The company’s primary goal is the integration of TugVolt and ReVolt technologies on railroads in the United States and other countries.
Both solutions offer the retrofitting of standard freight cars with energy storage systems based on batteries.
The ReVolt technology is focused on the use of cars within trains powered by locomotives.
These cars are equipped with batteries that collect energy generated during the train’s braking.
The stored energy is then used for traction, which helps reduce fuel consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
ReVolt cars have already undergone successful testing on Iron Senergy’s line, covering approximately 8,000 kilometers.
In the coming months, they will begin operation on the tracks of Carmeuse Americas, indicating their expanding use in the industrial sector.
The company’s other product, the self-propelled TugVolt freight cars, are autonomous transport units with traction drives and remote control via mobile devices.
These cars are designed to operate on industrial and mining sidings, providing efficient cargo movement within production complexes.
In 2023, the company received a grant from the state of Michigan for the production of these cars, accelerating their manufacturing and deployment.
Thus, Intramotev’s technologies could represent a significant step forward towards sustainable development in the transportation sector, offering solutions that reduce environmental impact and improve the energy efficiency of transportation.
