A full-scale interior mock-up of the entire train is currently being created in collaboration with the German rail operator Deutsche Bahn, with plans to showcase it in 2024.
This mock-up will be included in a request for proposals, which CHSRA intends to announce in the first quarter of 2024, pending the completion of the qualification process.
During prior consultations, Siemens Mobility, Alstom, and Hyundai Rotem participated.
The procurement plan involves acquiring 6 trains capable of reaching a maximum speed of 350 km/h and accommodating at least 450 passengers.
The first two prototypes are expected to be ready by 2028, with CHSRA aiming to receive the rest by the end of 2030.
