The American company Integral dx has unveiled a new series of switching locomotives with improved characteristics. The manufacturer offers locomotives with a power range of 660-1360 kW, a weight of 74-163 tons, and a tractive effort of 210-378 kN. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The models are equipped with two engines and can operate in multiple-unit configurations, ensuring high efficiency. The company expects orders from U.S. military agencies looking to replace their aging locomotive fleet.

So far, the first locomotive has been built for the Navy, but certification is still pending. Integral dx states that the locomotives feature Caterpillar C-series engines that comply with the Tier 4 environmental standard.

Integral dx Implements Modern Technologies

The manufacturer uses refurbished bogies and traction motors from EMD locomotives built between the 1950s and 1970s. The design is adaptable to customer requirements, offering different options for cab placement.

Integral dx Offers Customized Solutions

The company specializes in the production and modernization of specialized equipment, having completed around 900 orders since 1999. The manufacturer actively implements new technologies, focusing on both the industrial and military sectors.
