24.11.2023
CAF has delivered the first Inneo metro train from a new batch to Naples, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The six-car train was handed over to the operator EAV. The contract for the delivery of four trains was signed in 2020, and this year an option for an additional six trains was exercised.

The total cost of the order, including a 3-year maintenance service, is €100 million.
Of this, €60 million is allocated from the state budget in accordance with Italy’s recovery and sustainability plan.
The new train has the same technical specifications as the previously ordered units.
With a length of 107.7 meters, it accommodates 918 passengers and reaches a maximum speed of 90 km/h.
The train is equipped with intercarriage passages and spaces for wheelchairs.
Previously, CAF faced issues with commissioning the Inneo train delivered to Naples under the 2017 contract for 24 units.
The first unit was launched last October, but it was taken out of service after a month.
The incorrect operation of the train’s software, which blocked the compressor’s operation, was the cause. Later, the problem was resolved.
