Infrastructure Design Bureau: KTZ’s key tasks

The Infrastructure Design Bureau has been set up within Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ). The launch was covered by industry outlets, including Rail-news.kz.

The new unit will be responsible for design work and construction support in Kazakhstan’s railway sector, as well as for delivering rail infrastructure projects.

The bureau’s scope includes developing design solutions, inspecting railway facilities, carrying out engineering calculations, and preparing technical solutions. These areas cover the preparation and support of works across the railway network.

Rail infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan
The bureau plans to take part in key railway network development projects. The stated направления include system modernization, track overhaul, reconstruction of structures, and development of new routes. A separate area is the preparation of design-and-estimate documentation for railway mainlines.
