In April 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia received 35 million UAH of profit

Ukrzaliznytsia received UAH 35 million of profit in April 2021. This is the first positive financial result after unprofitable indicators of the last 12 months. This was announced by the acting Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC Ivan Yurik/

“We note the first month of profitability over the last 12 months. Unfortunately, the global and Ukrainian economies crisis began in March last year, the coronavirus pandemic and reduced traffic volumes held back the development of Ukrzaliznytsia for a long time, but we broke this negative trend, ” he stated, informs Railway Supply , citing UZ.

Ivan Yurik noted that this result was achieved due to the implementation of an operational anti-crisis plan and, what is important, without raising freight rates or reducing the tax burden on the company.

He also added that despite the difficult past 2020, Ukrzaliznytsya remained one of the largest and most conscientious taxpayers at the end of 2020 and transferred more than UAH 25 billion to the budgets of all levels and funds.

“Our company will continue to make every effort to increase revenues, develop the cargo business, increase the attractiveness and service of passenger transportation, increasing cost efficiency,” the head of Ukrzaliznytsia summed up.
