In 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia repaired 62 locomotives

The CEO, Evgeniy Lyashchenko, shared this information during a concluding meeting with the Ministry of Restoration’s team, diplomatic heads, and the public, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Besides critical infrastructure restoration, the company invested in its development, reconstructing 273 km of track, rehabilitating the locomotive fleet and carriages, and constructing specialized rolling stock for container transport.

Lyashchenko highlighted the recent transport of trucks from the Polish border as evidence of this initiative’s importance.
The repairs included 26 diesel locomotives, 36 electric locomotives, and 8102 carriages.
For container transport development, 287 fitting platforms were built, along with the restoration of 15 bridges and energy infrastructure.
Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia, beyond being the country’s largest carrier, is a major electricity distribution operator.
They restored 28 traction substations, ensuring the system’s reliability and powering various industries and communities.
Ukrzaliznytsia may involve private enterprises in locomotive repairs and plans to engage domestic manufacturers in the refurbishment of TE33AC diesel locomotives.
