Among the highlights was a driverless metro train developed for the city of Taoyuan. The $400 million contract, signed in 2018, includes delivery of 40 two-car sets.

The trains can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h and accommodate 320 passengers, with 58 seated. This solution strengthens Taiwan’s urban transport infrastructure.

Hyundai Rotem to Supply Trams for Edmonton

The company also showcased a low-floor tram ordered by the city of Edmonton. The $161 million deal signed in 2021 covers 40 seven-section tram vehicles.

Each tram holds up to 270 passengers, including 78 seated. These vehicles are tailored to Canadian climate conditions and urban passenger demand.

Hyundai Rotem Develops Airport Express for Seoul

Another major debut was the front car of Seoul’s new airport express train. The $134 million contract signed in 2022 includes nine six-car trainsets.

These trains are designed to carry up to 876 passengers, with 246 seated, and operate at speeds of up to 150 km/h. They will improve transit between the capital and the international airport.
