Hopkins Road bridge works will enter their final stage later this month in Truganina, Victoria. A three-week construction blitz will deliver the final works for the new bridge over the rail line. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The Hopkins Road closure will start at 9pm on Tuesday April 28. It will end at 1am on Monday May 18. The closure affects the section between Grand Boulevard and Meskos Road. According to Victoria’s Big Build, crews will work around the clock to connect the new bridge to the existing road and complete asphalting and line marking. Meanwhile, the closure runs until the day the new bridge opens to traffic. That is also when the Hopkins Road level crossing is permanently removed.
Closure period and detours
Also, detours will use Leakes Road, Troups Road, Dohertys Road and Robinsons Road.
As Rail Express reported, more than 5000 tonnes of asphalt have already been laid. The bridge façade and railings have been painted a vibrant purple. Also, a new pedestrian and cycling path has been built.
