Hitachi Rail is enhancing CCTV security in over 50 Singapore metro stations to improve safety for passengers. The project focuses on expanding surveillance coverage across essential metro routes. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The CCTV upgrade will incorporate a new centralized Video Management System (VMS) and advanced Video Transmission Network (VTN) to handle both new and existing cameras across the North-South and East-West Line networks. By streamlining monitoring, this infrastructure aims to create a safer transit environment for all.

Hitachi Rail has taken charge of the system’s design while collaborating with Strides Engineering for on-ground deployment. This partnership ensures that every station is equipped with state-of-the-art security technology integrated into the Operations Control Centre, optimizing centralized monitoring.
