02.03.2024
Hitachi Rail has signed a contract worth 200 million euros to supply rolling stock for the Naples metro, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Hitachi Rail will deliver 22 next-generation trains for the Naples metro network in Italy following the signing of a contract worth 200 million euros (216.4 million dollars) with the Municipality of Naples.
The FXN5C locomotives will become the primary serial model of mainline locomotives in China
The rolling stock contract stipulates that the trains will be manufactured locally at Hitachi’s factories in Pistoia and Naples before being delivered for use on the newly expanded Line 6 starting in 2026, where they will replace existing smaller trains.
In addition to increasing passenger capacity (seating 290 people), the new trains will feature automatic train protection and air conditioning systems to enhance comfort throughout the year.
