The Kent and East Sussex Railway, operating between Tenterden and Bodiam, gained recognition for outstanding marketing efforts. Judges praised the railway’s engaging promotional strategies and creative outreach.

Historic Railway to Compete at Major Awards Ceremony

The Heritage Railway Association Annual Awards 2025 will take place in Gateshead on Saturday evening. This year’s competition has drawn a record-breaking number of participants.

Twelve distinct categories will be represented, showcasing excellence across various heritage railway sectors. Industry professionals are eagerly awaiting the final results.

Steve Oates, chief executive of the Heritage Railway Association, emphasized the growing prestige of these awards. He acknowledged the increasing number of high-quality submissions this year.

“The remarkable number of entries highlights the importance of these awards within the industry,” he stated. “Shortlisting nominees was more challenging than ever due to tough competition.”

He congratulated all nominees for reaching the final stage, recognizing their dedication to railway preservation and innovation.

“This event aligns with Railway 200 celebrations, marking two centuries of railway history,” he added. “With record-breaking attendance expected, this will be an unforgettable ceremony.”
