The investor will focus on infrastructure upgrades and expanding logistics services. The site lies along major international rail corridors with access to both 1435 mm and 1520 mm gauge lines.

Thanks to its strategic location, the terminal will handle up to 100,000 TEU annually, along with grain and general cargo. Capacity may be increased as demand grows.

HHLA strengthens its logistics strategy in Eastern Europe

HHLA’s Ukrainian portfolio already includes the Odessa container terminal and Ukraine Intermodal Company (UIC).

HHLA’s partner, Swiss shipping corporation MSC, which owns 50.1% of HHLA shares, is also expanding in the region. Its subsidiary MEDLOG recently acquired 50% of transport company N’UNIT and 25% of the Mostyska rail terminal.

In doing so, HHLA continues to build a robust logistics network between the EU and Ukraine, with a focus on transit and intermodal transportation.
