Hackers attacked Pesa
06.04.2023
The security of the IT systems of Pesa, Poland’s leading manufacturer of railway and tram cars, was disrupted last weekend by a hacker attack. This was reported by Railway Supply magazine, citing Rynek Kolejowy.
City telephones are not working. The wagon manufacturer’s suppliers are also reporting problems. Requests for spare parts are sent to them by SMS and not by email as usual.

The manufacturer has issued a statement confirming the situation. The event was detected at an early stage and the affected system resources were isolated. As a result of the incident, access to some Pesa Bydgoszcz SA resources was restricted.
The systems installed in Pesa rail vehicles were not compromised and passengers travelling in Pesa vehicles are not at risk. The company is in the process of analysing the event with external experts and has initiated remedial action to restore full functionality.
