Greenbrier and Helrom: New Trailer Rail Platforms Simplify Freight Transportation Without Loading Terminals
06.09.2024
Greenbrier is involved in the production of intermodal platforms using Helrom technology, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

A recent batch of Trailer Rail platforms, manufactured according to the technical specifications of a German client, was dispatched from the factory in Świdnica, Poland.

As part of the ongoing contract, 62 such platforms are planned for delivery. The first batch was handed over to Helrom at the end of 2023.
Trailer Rail platforms feature a unique attribute: they are equipped with a special module that opens sideways using a hydraulic system.
This allows for loading freight trailers directly onto the platform with the help of a tractor. Special loading terminals are not required; a simple paved area next to the railway tracks suffices.
Additionally, the company is currently working on producing another 40 Trailer Rail platforms on order.
In February 2023, the German Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure awarded Helrom a grant of 15 million euros to enter the market.
Greenbrier continues to advance this innovative technology, significantly simplifying freight transportation processes and enhancing logistical efficiency.
