GO Station supports Hamilton’s transport future

The provincial government frambed Confederation GO Station as an integral feature of the Niagara Extension. Authorities project it will generate close to a half-million rides per annum and reinforce Hamilton’s leadership in area transit.

The station features an accessible platform, bike racks, a pick-up/drop-off area, as well as 148 parking spots. It was a bus stop since 2019 but now a complete rail center.

GO Station Expansion and Broader Network Modifications

Same day, Ontario will also extend some Lakeshore West trains to Confederation GO. Thirteen weekday and 15 Saturday trains will call on Hamilton, in addition to extra services on Lakeshore East, Barrie, and Stouffville corridors.

Previous upgrades on the west end lowered travel times by 15 minutes for St. Catharines and Niagara Falls customers. Individually, these projects demonstrate a long-term vision for faster and more consistent rail travel by the province.
