And continuing to grow the order portfolio, by 2030 the network will have reached close to 50 cities. New deliveries will go to Tours, Rome, Bologna, Grenoble, and Omaha, USA, continuing to solidify the position of CAF worldwide supplier.

Urbos tramways and tech revolution

CAF manages tram assembly of eight plants across Spain, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hungary. The plan allows quicker contract execution and reinforcing local presence within key markets.

The trains are locally adjusted to local conditions but with the characteristic comfort of passengers. Additionally, 25% of all Urbos trains have onboard energy storage to enable wire-less operation. Urbos was, in 2011, the first tram to achieve an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

Nowadays, new vehicles contain 20% of recycled materials. Thus, the program minimizes environmental effect and emphasizes CAF’s sustainable development practice.
