This will allow customers to track the location of wagons in real-time using X-Rayl GPS sensors from the Austrian company DOT telematik und systemtechnik.
The cloud platform, developed by the German company Kasasi, will provide convenient access to data and their storage. In addition to the basic package, GATX offers additional options, including load, impact, hatch and lock position sensors, temperature, and others.Integration of tracking data with planning systems is also provided, ensuring more efficient logistics management.
In North America, GATX is also actively developing a telemetry system. In collaboration with wagon builders and carriers, they are participating in the RailPulse project, and in January 2024, the company announced the installation of ZTR sensors on its wagons.
These steps demonstrate GATX’s commitment to improving customer service quality and increasing efficiency in cargo management.
