Freightliner PL Expands Fleet with 40 New Grain Cars for International Transport
09.09.2024
The private rail operator Freightliner PL has expanded its rolling stock by adding 40 new grain hopper cars, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
These cars are intended for operation on domestic routes within Poland as well as on international routes, which will enable the company to improve logistics processes and increase the efficiency of freight transport.
Zagreb to Receive New Trams: Major €200 Million Investment in Transport
Each train can include up to 37 cars, allowing the transportation of large volumes of grain in a single trip.
This not only reduces delivery times but also lowers logistics costs.
With this solution, the company aims to meet the growing demand for agricultural product transportation both within the country and beyond.
The new cars have already begun operation, with the first grain shipments dispatched to key markets.
Their use is aimed at optimizing the rail network’s performance and increasing the share of rail transport in agricultural logistics.
It is worth noting that recent changes in the rail freight market are not limited to the Polish sector alone.
Earlier, LTG Cargo, a Lithuanian rail company, acquired 500 grain cars from Ukrainian manufacturers.
This reflects a broader trend towards the renewal and modernization of rail transport for agricultural needs in the region.
Thus, Freightliner PL’s solutions are focused on increasing capacity and strengthening the company’s position in the international transport market.
