What Carly Railcar Components brings to the business?

Family-owned Carly Railcar Components, founded in 1995, distributes original-equipment components and operates a core-exchange program for remanufactured parts. It is headquartered in Irwin, Pa., and also has a location in Orange, Texas, described as a Houston-area facility.

This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

FreightCar America said the acquisition reinforces its aftermarket distribution business, with a focus on running-repair components.

In a press release carried by GlobeNewswire, FreightCar America CEO Nicholas Randall said Carly Railcar Components adds capabilities that are complementary to the company’s railcar aftermarket operations. He also cited CRC’s established regional footprint — including the Orange, Texas facility — as supporting faster service, reliability and product availability for customers.

Mike Riordan, the company’s chief financial officer and treasurer, said combining Carly’s capabilities with FreightCar America’s commercial and supply chain excellence will allow the company to deliver value to customers and pursue operational improvements across the combined network.
