Freight rail company BNSF announces $ 1B investment from customers

Freight railroad company BNSF (USA) reported that the investments of its clients in the development of transport infrastructure in 2020 amounted to about 1.1 billion dollars. The largest amounts were contributed by Coldpoint Logistics, Delta Peanut and Ingredion. As a result of these investments, it is planned to create over 1.7 thousand new jobs, reports railway magazine Railway Supply citing information from BNSF.

According to the carrier, for the 10th year in a row, clients and local economic development organizations have been investing $ 1 billion in the construction or expansion of facilities.

Major decisions in 2020 included supply chains improving for various goods.

Coldpoint Logistics has invested $ 25 million to expand its facility at BNSF Logistics Park in Kansas City. Another company, Delta Peanut, has invested $ 70 million in the access roads to its Jonesboro, Arkansas peanut plant. More than $ 100 million were invested by Ingredion, a food ingredients company.
