Freedom Intermodal bulk liquid facility expands Port NOLA access

The site has direct access to Port NOLA, the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) and the six Class I railroads. Port NOLA officials said in a press release that the expansion reflects rising demand for logistics services that connect rail, trucking and maritime transport.

The facility includes Class A warehouse space and 38 outbound dock doors, along with covered unloading areas for trucks and railcars, heating and blending capabilities, a storage-in-transit yard for 450 rail cars, a dedicated trucking fleet and four acres for laydown space and trailer parking.

Located 7 miles from Port NOLA and 1 mile from Interstate 10, the site is positioned to serve customers moving freight by rail, truck, barge and vessel, Port NOLA officials said.

Tomeka Bryant, NOPB chief strategy officer and general manager, said:

“Freedom Intermodal’s investment highlights the value of the integrated logistics ecosystem we have built in New Orleans,” said Tomeka Bryant, NOPB chief strategy officer and general manager. “NOPB’s six-Class I railroad connectivity, combined with Port NOLA’s global maritime reach and Louisiana’s strong industrial manufacturing sector, gives customers access to supply chain solutions that are difficult to replicate anywhere else in the country.”
