Franklin/Foxboro Line Schedule Updates Continue

Commuters are still feeling the effects of service changes on the Franklin/Foxboro Line, and you should expect more schedule changes while MBTA and Keolis try to resolve the problem. “These service modifications, which are based on progress of Amtrak’s repairs following the Aug. 1 signal damage incident.

Inbound shuttle service will now originate at Forge Park/495 Station with normal departures. Meanwhile, outbound trains are running on close-to-regular schedule but with minor delays for station stops that are service territory only, Hyde Park Station included.
Operational Changes and Bus Services
Shuttle Buses to Replace All Weekday Service Foxboro-Walpole 9:30 AM-2:30 PM for New Accessible Platform Demolition on its Way for New Accessible Platform In Foxboro Station Special Event Trains to Gillette Stadium.
More modest adjustments also affect other routes; for example, train 744 on the Fairmount Line will now run three minutes later to fit new schedules. Mid-day Franklin/Foxboro trains will also operate on a schedule.
Infrastructure Improvements and Future Plans
In additional to short-term schedule adjustments, MBTA and Keolis are making infrastructure upgrades to its network on the Fairmount Line in preparation for future battery-electric trains. These upgrades are designed to bring our operations and service reliability into the 21st century.
