16.09.2024
France will deliver the first batch of rails for “Ukrzaliznytsia” in January 2025, as reported by the railway news portal Railway Supply.
As part of the cooperation with France, the country has committed to supplying 19,000 tons of railway rails, which will help renew about 150 kilometers of tracks. The first shipment is expected early next year.

Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, noted that France has been actively supporting projects in Ukraine even before the full-scale war began.
Since 2022, the scope of this assistance has significantly increased. France is involved in the restoration of railway infrastructure, aviation transport, and is also assisting the Chernihiv region, particularly in the repair of the Chernihiv Drama Theater.
The rail supply project is part of a broader cooperation between Ukraine and France.
Under the preliminary agreement, the French side has committed to delivering a substantial amount of rails, marking an important step in the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure, which has been damaged during the hostilities.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated the first batch of French rails would be delivered in the first quarter of 2024.
However, the timeline has been revised, and the rails are now expected to arrive in January 2025. This will allow “Ukrzaliznytsia” to accelerate the modernization of railway tracks, which in turn will improve logistics and restore transport connections in the country.
French assistance plays a key role in restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
Cooperation in this area is advancing on multiple fronts, including not only transportation projects but also support for the reconstruction of regions affected by the conflict.
