The European Sleeper Milan night train will add Antwerp, Breda, and Eindhoven from December 2026. Travelers from the Netherlands will gain a direct overnight connection to Italy without changing trains. It will be the first such connection in several years.

European Sleeper previously announced the Brussels–Milan connection. It is scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026, with stops in Cologne and Switzerland. Breda and Eindhoven will join the route from December 14, 2026. Their addition will provide a direct night service between the Netherlands, Switzerland, and northern Italy.

European Sleeper currently expects the train to call at Aarau rather than Zurich. Also, the company says Aarau offers frequent domestic rail connections. The city is approximately 30 minutes from Zurich by Swiss trains.

The Brussels–Netherlands–Cologne–Switzerland–Milan route will strengthen Europe’s night train network. In addition, it will create a north–south rail corridor. This corridor will link economic regions, cultural cities, and tourist destinations.

European Sleeper says it is seeing strong demand for international overnight travel. It says demand is particularly strong among passengers seeking a comfortable, practical, and lower-impact alternative to short-haul flights. Also, Milan provides high-speed rail connections to Florence, Rome, and other Italian destinations.

European Sleeper co-founder Chris Engelsman said:

Three departures per week from December

The December 2026 timetable change will also alter the operating days of the Brussels–Milan train.

Until then, southbound trains are scheduled to depart on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings. Return services from Milan are scheduled for Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights.

From December 14, 2026, trains from Brussels, the Netherlands, and Cologne will leave on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. They will arrive the following morning in Switzerland, Como, and Milan.

Meanwhile, northbound services from Milan and Switzerland will depart on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. They will arrive in Cologne, the Netherlands, and Brussels on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.

European Sleeper ticket prices start at EUR 29.99

Bookings for the Brussels–Netherlands–Cologne–Switzerland–Milan night train open on June 2, 2026. Bookings will be available through the European Sleeper website and selected international sales partners. Tickets will be available for travel through January 3, 2027.

Budget-class seats will start at EUR 29.99. A bed in a Classic compartment will be available from EUR 49.99. The fare includes the ticket, reservation, luggage, and linens.

Passengers looking for additional comfort can choose Comfort Standard from EUR 99.99. In addition, Comfort Plus starts at EUR 129.99 and includes breakfast.

European Sleeper is a Dutch-Belgian railway company wholly owned by its investor community. It focuses on operating night trains between major European destinations. It currently runs two international night routes: Brussels–Berlin–Prague and Paris–Berlin. Each route has three departures per week.
