Integration with Etihad Rail Increases Clever Mobility

Etihad Rail’s new alliance with United Trans and Via will rewire passengers’ journeys across the UAE. In the alliance, the rail services get integrated into Citymapper, allowing users to plan convenient multimodal journeys.

Azza Alsuwaidi, the Deputy CEO of Etihad Rail Mobility, said the campaign supports the company as the pillar of the public transportation system in the UAE. It is compatible with the national vision of sustainable, technology-based transportation.

Etihad Rail Powers Sustainability and Integration

It also brings with it the first- and last-mile services through Via’s on-demand transportation and United Trans operations. In this way, the method ensures that the communities have access to the train stations without the use of personal cars.

By linking residential areas and commercial sites, the alliance hopes to reduce congestion and pollution. It also facilitates the achievement of the UAE’s target of becoming a low-carbon, world-class transport system.

In the words of United Trans’ Raed Abu Hijleh, such co-operation is evidence of a common desire towards innovation and accessibility. “We’re developing a smarter, cleaner, user-friendlier network,” he said.

Via’s COO, Chris Snyder, further revealed that the integration is a significant public transportation milestone. “We’re linking every mode into one integrated experience,” he said, highlighting the attention on digital convenience and comfort for the rider.

United Trans and Via already fuel winning on-demand services in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman. Growing their collaboration through integration with Etihad Rail extends their expertise at the national level and defines a new standard in smarter mobility.
