Woojin Industrial Systems has won a tender for the supply of 9 eight-car trains for the 1st line of the Korean city of Busan’s metro system, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The company offered to fulfill the contract for KRW 83.8 billion ($62.8 million), compared to the initial purchase cost of KRW 92.1 billion ($69 million).

The rolling stock is expected to be delivered by December 2026.

Woojin Industrial Systems Company Limited is a South Korean manufacturer of rolling stock, including metro, electric buses, people movers, and monorail vehicles.
