Whoosh High-Speed Rail Sets New Passenger Record on Holiday

Whoosh high-speed rail transported 25,316 passengers on Saturday, May 10, 2025, setting a new daily record during the extended Vesak holiday weekend. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This milestone exceeded the previous record of 24,350 passengers set in January 2025. The surge highlighted the growing popularity of Whoosh services for modern intercity travel.

Ridership began increasing on Friday, May 9, with 22,000 passengers using the line. Many families chose Whoosh for holiday getaways between Jakarta, Bandung, and Karawang.
Holiday Demand Pushes Whoosh High-Speed Rail to Record
To meet the travel rush, KCIC added service counters at Halim and Padalarang stations and deployed 50 mobile officers to support passengers more effectively.
Since February 2025, the company has operated 62 trips daily. Jakarta–Bandung services run every 30 minutes, and Jakarta–Karawang every hour, offering flexibility and frequency.
Whoosh high-speed rail continues to serve as a reliable and comfortable alternative to road travel, especially during peak holiday periods across Indonesia.
Passenger Experience Enhancements on Whoosh High-Speed Rail
KCIC has upgraded facilities at all stations to serve families, elderly travelers, and passengers with special needs. Nursing rooms, child-friendly spaces, and accessibility features are available system-wide.
Trains are equipped to support people with disabilities, offering step-free access and onboard amenities that ensure ease of movement and comfort during journeys.
Eva Chairunisa, KCIC’s General Manager Corporate Secretary, thanked the public for choosing Whoosh and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality, comfort, and safety.
Since launching in October 2023, Whoosh has carried over 9.2 million passengers. This growth reflects rising public trust in Indonesia’s high-speed rail future.
