Scheduled Upgrades on the West Anglia Main Line

Contractors will focus on improving infrastructure to ensure passenger safety and system efficiency. These upgrades will address worn-out track sections and prepare the railway for future growth.

Planned tasks include signaling system preparation for Cambridge South, track renewal at Harlow Town and Cannons Mill Lane, and maintenance at Broxbourne station. Crews will also replace switches and crossings at Broxbourne Junction and work inside Stansted tunnel.
How Maintenance Affects West Anglia Main Line Services?
The engineering work will impact weekend services on the West Anglia main line from February 22 through March 23. Passengers using Greater Anglia, Great Northern, and Thameslink trains will encounter replacement bus services between affected stations. Specific routes, such as Harlow Mill to Waltham Cross, will see extended bus coverage on March 17.
Travelers should check journey details in advance via National Rail Enquiries or Greater Anglia. Allowing extra time during these weekends will help mitigate potential delays caused by ongoing maintenance efforts.
