Vossloh will be responsible for both preventive work and corrective rail grinding. Special attention will be given to high-speed grinding, which will last for at least two years with the possibility of extension.
The work will cover no less than 13,000 kilometers of tracks annually, primarily on the busiest routes.
This technology will help eliminate minor rail defects and ensure their continued use.
Additionally, Vossloh has secured a framework contract for rail milling machines to address more severe defects.
These machines are used in cases where grinding is no longer effective, and replacing the rails would be less cost-effective and take more time.
The contract is set for four years with the possibility of a two-year extension. This solution will significantly reduce costs and speed up the defect elimination process.
Last year, Vossloh achieved a revenue of €1.2 billion, further strengthening its leadership in the market. The company’s shares have also shown growth, increasing by almost 14% since the beginning of the year.
The execution of these contracts highlights Deutsche Bahn’s high level of trust in Vossloh and underscores the importance of innovative solutions in rail infrastructure maintenance.
High-speed grinding and rail milling machines will ensure track reliability while minimizing costs and repair time.
The development of these technologies is a key factor in maintaining the safety and efficiency of rail transport in Germany.
