Vossloh, known for its innovative solutions in railway infrastructure, is opening a new facility for the production of composite sleepers in the Polish town of Nowe Skalmierzyce, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Vossloh: Opening of Composite Sleeper Production

This factory, equipped with ultra-modern and largely automated equipment, can produce about 100,000 sleepers per year.

SNCF Plans to Enter the Italian High-Speed Rail Market

The product range includes not only standard composite sleepers but also specialized items such as turnout bearers and bridge sleepers.

The production of composite sleepers is the result of over a decade of development by Vossloh.

The main goal was to combine the best qualities of concrete, wooden, and polymer sleepers.

As a result, the company has achieved high performance characteristics for its products: high resistance to atmospheric conditions, low thermal expansion, stable track gauge, and high track stability.

These sleepers represent a worthy alternative to traditional wooden sleepers, whose use is increasingly restricted in many countries due to harmful chemical treatments.

Special attention in the production process is given to environmental sustainability.

Vossloh’s composite sleepers are made from recycled materials using environmentally friendly electricity.

This not only reduces the carbon footprint but also ensures the possibility of complete recycling of the products after their 50-year service life.

Vossloh’s CEO, Oliver Schuster, emphasized that both the composite sleepers and the production equipment are true masterpieces of engineering.

At the grand opening ceremony held on June 18, he noted that the new facility enables the company to meet specific customer requirements, quickly adapting the products to particular needs.

These composite sleepers are not only durable and resilient but also significantly safer for the environment and human health.

Schuster highlighted that the company aims to create a sustainable and long-lasting alternative to traditional chemically treated wooden sleepers.

This is particularly important in today’s world, where increasing attention is paid to environmental safety and sustainable development.

Thus, the opening of the new plant in Poland not only strengthens Vossloh’s position in the global railway infrastructure market but also promotes environmentally friendly technologies.

This facility is a prime example of how modern technology and innovation can combine to achieve high standards of quality and environmental responsibility.
