UZ has transported more than 7.8 thousand tons of humanitarian cargo
01.04.2022
Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, the railway has transported over 7.8 thousand tons of humanitarian cargo by passenger cars and sent 1670 freight cars with aid.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press service of UZ.
Most aid comes to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhya and Odesa.
UZ has defined 50 wagons in 32 passenger trains, which will be assigned to separate routes for the delivery of humanitarian cargo.
“This will make it possible to clearly separate the humanitarian mission of Ukrzaliznytsia from our immediate work — the transportation of passengers and cargo, and will also provide additional security for humanitarian cargo,” the company explained.
As previously reported, UZ has delivered 1 200 wagons of humanitarian aid since the beginning of the war.
