The first unmanned monorail train, Innovia 300 by Alstom, has arrived in the Dominican Republic, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This four-car train, manufactured in the UK’s Derby plant, accommodates up to 580 passengers and underwent successful testing in Kingston, Canada before shipment.

Turkey continues to actively modernize its railway transport

It is intended for Santiago de los Caballeros’ 13 km monorail system with 14 stations.

Alstom, in collaboration with the SIF consortium and with the support of the French government, is implementing the project.

By 2025, it’s planned to deliver 13 such trains, along with constructing a depot and installing the Cityflo 650 management system with GoA4 automation.

The total contract value is estimated at around €370 million.
