Unique Ukrzaliznytsia Kitchen Train continues its operations!
25.06.2024
Against the backdrop of the crisis caused by Russian attacks on critical infrastructure in Kharkiv and the region, Ukrzaliznytsia continues to provide meals to local residents, helping to alleviate the region’s resource burden, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
In its 100 days of operation, the kitchen train has played a crucial role:
- Used 800 cubic meters of water, equivalent to filling 3,200 baths.
- Processed 160 tons of products — roughly the weight of 32 African elephants.
- Prepared 380 tons of food, equivalent to the weight of 7.6 M1 Abrams tanks.
- Generated over 50,000 kWh of energy — enough to power a laptop for 570 years or provide energy for 17 homes for a year.
- Prepared 570,000 meals — sufficient to feed the population of cities like Vinnytsia or Kryvyi Rih twice.

This project has become an example of effective crisis response and support for the local population.
The Ukrzaliznytsia kitchen train continues its operations, remaining an invaluable resource for Kharkiv and the region, thanks to support from The Howard G. Buffett Foundation.
