In the first half of November, Ukraine’s railway transported 1.2 million 204.5 thousand tons of grain for export, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
This was discussed during a meeting between company representatives and participants in the grain market on November 16.
Competition in European high-speed transportation is on the rise
If these volumes continue in the second half of the month, it is estimated that around 2.5 million tons of grain will be transported for export by the end of November.
Deputy Director of the Commercial Department at Ukrzaliznytsia, Valeriy Tkachev, presented this forecast. He added that this is significantly more than the amount exported by rail in October, which was 1.731 million tons.
Currently, the volumes transported towards ports are more than twice the volumes transported through western border crossings. Specifically, 849,150 tons were transported towards ports, while 355,310 tons were transported through western border crossings.
Grain loading on the railway network is also increasing. In the first 15 days of November, 1.171 million tons were loaded.
Grain constitutes 19.8% of the total volume. The average daily loading volume in November is 86,900 tons.
This is 11,300 tons or 14.9% more than in October
