Ukrzaliznytsia has handed over the first drones purchased through passenger donations

Ukrainian Railways has transferred 62 drones to the Ukrainian military, which were acquired through donations from passengers who were drinking tea on trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Last year, Ukrzaliznytsia, the Drone Army, and the tea manufacturer Gemini launched a special tea collection on trains across the country, helping to raise funds to purchase domestically produced FPV drones named ‘Thunder’ for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During this time, passengers consumed 507 thousand cups of tea, donating 2 million 788 thousand 588 hryvnias towards unmanned systems, which will aid in more effectively operating in important enemy locations from a distance.
“Most of the amount has already been transferred to purchase drones through the UNITED24 platform, and the first 62 drones have been received from the manufacturer. Train managers who sold the most tea on their routes have handed over the drones to representatives of the Armed Forces,” the statement said.
It refers to a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the legendary brigade that, since March 2022, along with other units, held defense near Avdiivka, in the Donetsk direction.
As reported earlier, over 1 million hryvnias were donated by train passengers for FPV drones for the military.
