Ukraine wants to nationalize more than 1 500 railway wagons

The State Bureau of Investigation has initiated the nationalization of more than 1 500 freight railcars identified in three regions of Ukraine.
Bureau employees found about 1 400 wagons on the territory of the Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava regions. The owners of the wagons are individuals and legal entities from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply.
“In order to seize the property of the occupiers and transfer it to the needs of Ukraine, the Territorial Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigation of Poltava turned to the officials of the Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk military-civilian administrations with a corresponding initiative,” the State Bureau of Investigation informed.
In another message, the Bureau announced the start of the process of nationalization of another 137 wagons of the aggressor countries. The cars were found in the Ternopil region. 33 of them are empty, the rest carried soybeans, glass, reinforced concrete products, ore – all property worth more than UAH 200 million.
Recall that earlier the Bureau of Economic Security initiated the nationalization of 400 wagons from the Russian Federation and Belarus, identified in the Cherkasy region. In the Vinnitsa region, 21 wagons of Russian mineral fertilizers worth about UAH 24 million were seized.
Also, the Economic Security Bureau initiated the nationalization of 29 tank cars, which belong to one of the enterprises from the Russian Federation, identified in the Transcarpathian region.
In March, Ukrzaliznytsia announced that the company was starting the process of nationalizing Russian freight cars currently located in Ukraine. Based on the information of JSC UZ, at the moment there are 10 956 Russian gondola cars, 2 057 tanks, 587 box cars, 158 platforms and 1 318 cars of other types on the Ukrzaliznytsia network.
