UK imposes sanctions against Russian Railways

The UK has imposed new sanctions against the Russian Federation and Belarus. The list also includes the main carrier of the aggressor state.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Railinsider.
59 individuals, 26 enterprises and ministries were subject to restrictions. In particular, the list includes Russian Railways and the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
“The United Kingdom government has imposed sanctions on seven Russian banks: Gazprombank, SMP Bank, Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Restoration, Rosselkhozbank and the Russian Venture Company Fund, as well as Alfa Bank, which is already under Britain sanctions,” the statement said.
The Minsk Tractor Plant also fell under the sanctions.
As previously reported, Russian Railways is asking for a subsidy to service its debts.
