TX Logistik Launches New Intermodal Service

The new route will operate with two round trips per week and 32 loading units per train.

The journey of the intermodal train from the Arken intermodal terminal in the Port of Gothenburg on Sweden’s west coast to the Eskilstuna intermodal terminal (west of Stockholm) takes about six hours.

After handling the cargo, transportation continues to Umeå in the north, where the trip to the intermodal terminal takes about 14 hours.

TX Logistik is currently the only freight railway using the Bothnia route along Sweden’s east coast, where freight trains can travel at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

This is possible because TX Logistik uses modern ETCS-equipped locomotives on the line, featuring the European Train Control System.
