The highly anticipated Türkiye’s Iconic Touristic Eastern Express will launch its winter season on Dec. 23. This journey offers travelers a unique opportunity to explore Anatolia’s breathtaking scenery. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Since its launch in 2019, Türkiye’s Iconic Touristic Eastern Express has become a favorite among travel enthusiasts. Over 71,000 passengers have already enjoyed this scenic adventure. This winter season promises to attract 10,500 new passengers eager to discover Anatolia’s cultural richness.

The train will operate 60 journeys, departing from Ankara on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 1:45 p.m. Key stops include extended breaks in Erzincan and Erzurum, giving travelers time to experience local landmarks.
Return trips from Kars leave on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 9:05 p.m. Stops include İliç, Divriği, and Sivas, with breaks lasting up to 210 minutes.

Tickets start at $143 (₺5,250), depending on your choice of carriage. They can be purchased through TCDD offices, authorized agents, the TCDD mobile app, or the official website.
Minister Uraloglu described the train journey as an unforgettable cultural experience. Passengers can connect with Anatolia’s history while enjoying scenic landscapes perfect for photography. To meet rising demand, the ministry also introduced the Regional Kars-Erzurum Express.
This additional service offers 24 trips between January 18 and February 23, 2025, accommodating 291 passengers per journey. It provides an ideal alternative for those unable to book the main service.
