Trenitalia France is set for significant expansion this year, increasing capacity and launching new routes. This move strengthens its presence in the French market while improving passenger services.

Trenitalia France Increases Capacity on Key Routes

Starting February 14, Trenitalia France will double capacity on its busiest routes with paired Frecciarossa trains. This development marks a significant step in improving service efficiency and passenger convenience.

On April 1, Paris–Milano services will resume following essential repairs to the Maurienne line. Damage from an August 2023 landslide caused prolonged disruptions, impacting thousands of travelers.

Sales & Marketing Director Fabrice Toledano confirmed the closure resulted in approximately 850,000 lost journeys. Restoring these services will reconnect key destinations and strengthen international travel links.

Trenitalia France will operate two daily return services with stops in Lyon, Chambéry, and Torino. Travel times will range from six to seven hours, ensuring efficient high-speed transport.

Additionally, three daily trains already connect Paris with Lyon, meeting strong passenger demand. These services reinforce Trenitalia’s competitive position in the French rail market.

Trenitalia France Introduces Paris–Marseille Route

A major expansion takes place on June 15 with the Paris–Marseille route launch. Trenitalia France will operate four daily high-speed trains along this key corridor.

This service includes stops at Lyon St-Exupéry, Avignon-TGV, and Aix-en-Provence-TGV. Passengers will benefit from a swift journey time of approximately three hours and twenty minutes.

Toledano highlighted the strategic decision to stop at Lyon St-Exupéry rather than Lyon Part-Dieu. This adjustment provides broader accessibility while ensuring optimal travel efficiency.

To support this expansion, the company will recruit 50 new employees. Investing in workforce growth ensures improved customer service and operational efficiency.

Since launching in December 2021, Trenitalia France has expanded its fleet from five to nine trains. These modern trains enhance service reliability and accommodate rising passenger demand.

Maintenance is conducted in Paris and Milano by Trenitalia and Hitachi Rail. Regular servicing guarantees optimal fleet performance and consistent service quality.

CEO Marco Caposciutti shared operational updates on January 24, reporting strong performance metrics. Trenitalia France trains have traveled 4.65 million kilometers while serving three million passengers.

Customer satisfaction remains high, with a 98% approval rating from passengers. This positive reception underscores the company’s commitment to delivering excellent service.

Before last year’s disruptions, Paris–Milano trains maintained an 85% occupancy rate. In comparison, the Paris–Lyon route consistently averaged around 60% occupancy.

With additional capacity and new routes, Trenitalia France expects continued passenger growth. These enhancements solidify its position as a key player in European rail travel.

Expanding high-speed services aligns with growing demand for fast and reliable transportation. Trenitalia France remains focused on efficiency, convenience, and customer satisfaction.

By investing in network expansion and service improvements, Trenitalia France continues its ambitious growth. This year marks a major milestone in its strategy to enhance rail travel.
