These locomotives will be delivered to freight operators in Romania and Hungary. The deal, finalized during InnoTrans 2024, highlights the growing demand for TransMontana locomotives. Constantin Grup, a Romanian freight operator, will receive three units, while Transferoviar Grup will get one. These TransMontana locomotives will operate on major routes like Corridor IV, which connects Curtici to the Black Sea port of Constanța.

Two additional TransMontana locomotives will go to CER Cargo in Hungary. These locomotives will be equipped with advanced European Train Control System (ETCS) technology, developed by Hitachi. The integration of ETCS ensures better control and safety, essential for smooth freight operations. This system improves overall operational efficiency and reduces the chances of human error.

Features of TransMontana Locomotives

TransMontana locomotives have become popular due to their power and reliability. These machines are built to handle the toughest operating conditions in Europe.

Their design focuses on energy efficiency, low emissions, and strong performance across various terrains. Many freight operators are now choosing TransMontana locomotives for their ability to reduce fuel costs while maintaining high standards.

The ETCS-equipped locomotives ordered by CER Cargo offer significant benefits. This system automates train operations, improving safety and reducing the response time during emergencies.

Operators in Hungary can expect more efficient freight operations, especially along busy rail corridors. The TransMontana locomotives will play a key role in Hungary’s logistics network.

Deliveries by 2025

Softronic plans to deliver all six TransMontana locomotives by the end of 2025. Constantin Grup’s three units will focus on key freight routes within Romania.

Transferoviar Grup, with one unit, will also improve its capacity to transport goods efficiently. These deliveries will strengthen the Romanian freight sector by providing operators with more powerful and efficient locomotives.

In Hungary, CER Cargo will benefit from the two ETCS-equipped TransMontana locomotives. These advanced locomotives will help reduce transit times and improve the reliability of freight transport. The Hungarian freight operator can look forward to smoother and more secure cross-border operations.

Growing Demand for TransMontana Locomotives

The demand for modern, energy-efficient locomotives like the TransMontana continues to rise. Freight operators in Romania and Hungary recognize the value of upgrading their fleets to more advanced models.

Rising fuel costs and stricter environmental standards make energy-efficient locomotives, such as the TransMontana, an ideal choice. These locomotives offer low operational costs, reducing the long-term expenses for freight companies.

Softronic’s success at InnoTrans 2024 demonstrates the growing demand for the TransMontana model. This success confirms that freight operators across Europe are looking for reliable and cost-effective locomotives. With its strong reputation for delivering high-quality locomotives, Softronic is poised to meet this demand.
