The trademark of the PJSC Kryukov Railcar Building Works is a symbol of the long-standing and successful activity of the plant, which is already 155 years old, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

For 35 years, this concise, simple, and eloquent symbol – the trademark of KRCBW – has been an integral part of the life and activities of the large team of car builders.

In difficult times in the country’s history, it is especially important to realize our unity, our belonging to the community, which for 155 years has been the KRCBW.

Our trademark embodies unity and corporate spirit. The letters K (Kriukov) and В (car building) form the letter З (plant).

They are within a circle, representing our element, our field of activity, a symbol of eternal movement, the infinity of engineering thought, and work talent.

The decision to develop a modern trademark was made by the current chairman of the supervisory board of PJSC “KRCBW”, and in February 1988 – the newly elected general director of the Kremenchug Production Association of Car Building, Vladimir Prikhodko.

A competition was immediately announced, a jury was created, and Vladimir Ivanovich headed it.

As history shows (and its most authoritative source – the corporate newspaper “Vagonostroitel”), employees of the departments of the chief technologist, chief designer, patenting, inventiveness, rationalization, and information participated in this work.

More than 30 options were proposed. The most successful in terms of aesthetics and technology is the one that has been used for 35 years.

Its author was Vyacheslav Prtulyak, who was then the head of the bureau of the patenting, inventiveness, rationalization, and information department.

The winner received a prize, and the enterprise began systematic and purposeful work on registering the trademark, obtaining and maintaining the rights to apply it to products.

Thus, on February 27, 1989, an application was submitted to Ukrpatent for the trademark, and soon the corresponding document was received.

Today, these issues in Ukraine are handled by the Ministry of Economy, specifically the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation (UKRNOIPI).

The certificate currently valid in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Rights to Signs for Goods and Services” is No. 247589, issued by the Ministry of Economy on September 25, 2018.

We submitted the application on December 2, 2016, and the certificate is valid for 10 years – until December 2, 2026. The specified term can be extended each time for 10 years in accordance with the law.

Oleg Manachinsky, head of the industrial property department of the technical audit department of the corporate management department, tells in detail about this and shows the relevant documents.

Oleg Vladimirovich adds:

– If in the very first certificate from 1989 we were granted the right to apply the trademark to only a few types of products, including freight cars, today the list of goods and services under the KRCBW trademark consists of 8 pages and contains 13 classes.

Among them are, of course, carriages, as well as furniture, advertising, education, metalworking, building construction, scientific and technological services, transportation, packaging and storage of goods, legal services, etc.

In 35 years, many changes have taken place in the life of the KRCBW, the city, and our country.

KRCBW has expanded its sales geography, strengthened ties with customers of our products, suppliers of materials, and components not only in Ukraine but also in many countries around the world.

In this movement forward, constant improvement, and creation of new products lies the main key to our success.

The logo remains unchanged as a recognizable symbol of a reliable manufacturer, a trademark that gains authority and stability over the years.

Our trademark is present on all types of freight and passenger cars, electric and diesel trains, metro trains and escalators, running gear of a wide range of rail transport, and other products.

It is an obligatory “participant” of all exhibitions and presentations, present on forms and calendars, advertising signs and books, posters and souvenirs, at the entrance to the enterprise, and on the work clothes of employees.

It is hard to list everything, but it can be said without exaggeration – it is always with us, it has become an integral part of the life of the KRCBW team and each of its employees.

It is the basis of our corporate style. Gradually, the trademark becomes a kind of intellectual capital without which the company cannot exist.
