In 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia built 528 freight cars, including 427 fitting platforms, marking a record in the last five years, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Additionally, they constructed a grain carrier adaptable for both 1520mm and 1435mm rail gauges, using predominantly domestic materials.

The production of gravel increased by 33% (reaching 2.7 million tons), and sleepers by 6% (reaching 867 thousand pieces).

Another five-year record was the production of reinforced concrete structures, growing by 10.5% to 6,937 cubic meters compared to 2022.

Ukrzaliznytsia also introduced 47 new products in 2023, manufacturing a diverse range of items, resulting in approximately 120 million UAH in savings.

The company aims to increase the volume of capital repairs for locomotives by 15% and electric trains by 8% in 2024, alongside expanding gravel production through external orders and exploring new products and technologies.

Plans include building over 500 freight cars and initiating the production of passenger cars.
