The Ostrava city transport operator, DPO, has announced a tender for the supply and maintenance of 16 trams with an option for 9 additional units, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The estimated cost of the order is 2.2 billion Czech crowns (€93.8 million).

The announcement of the competition follows preliminary market consultations conducted last year.

The new fleet is intended to replace the park of 16 three-section Tatra KT8D5 trams delivered in 1990.
