On April 21, the Russian FSB reported on “preventing a terrorist attack” on a railway in Russian-occupied Crimea.

According to the Center for Public Relations (DSP) of the FSB, the suspect detained in the city of Simferopol is a citizen of the Russian Federation. He allegedly made preparations to undermine the railway tracks.

The DSP reports that “the attack was being prepared at the direction” of the command of the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion “Crimea”, which is involved in protecting Ukraine from aggression by the Russian Armed Forces.

The FSB said that the detainee had two improvised explosive devices with a total weight of 3 kg, two electric detonators, a scheme for laying devices under the railway track, as well as literature, a flag and postcards of the Crimea battalion.

Currently, a Crimean is accused of preparing a terrorist attack and illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices.

The man was arrested for two months.

The railway line from the Crimea is one of the channels for the supply of weapons and other goods to provide the occupation forces of the Russian Federation in southern Ukraine.
