The trials will last for six months in Germany before the rolling stock is transported to the United Kingdom for network testing, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The testing of the first of five new London Underground trains has commenced at Siemens’ test track in Wegberg-Wildenrath, Germany.

Implementation of the ERTMS/ETCS

The process will take six months before the trains are handed over to Transport for London (TfL) for network trials in the London Underground system in mid-2024.

The trains are scheduled to enter passenger service on the Piccadilly Line in 2025.
