The logistics railroad complex with a cargo turnover of 450,000 containers per year has been launched in the southeast of Kazakhstan, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

In the Zhetisu region of Kazakhstan, near the border with China, they have opened the multimodal transport and logistics complex called ‘Eurotransit Terminal Dostyk.’

It is expected to double the cargo flow between China and the European Union.

The new terminal, covering an area of 18 hectares, is capable of temporarily storing up to 1,600 containers. The total cargo turnover is up to 450,000 containers per year.

It is equipped with two overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 41 tons. The equipment is adapted to withstand the strong winds of the Jungar Gate.

Currently, 100 people are employed at the facility, and the workforce is planned to be expanded to 250 people in the future.
